A huge thanks to Craig Robinson (BJJ Black Belt) who came to our Academy and taught a fantastic class, what a huge turnout with over 35 students taking part.
TWINS The girls have arrived on Tuesday the 9th of February, Hannah was born first at 11.09am and weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces and Addison was born at 11.10am and weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces. Angelique is doing well and babies are great.
2009 2009 AWARDS NIGHT Thankyou to every who came to the 2009 Awards night and Xmas party, it was our biggest yet. If you are unable to make it to grading we do have the option of grading during class time, but this comes at an additional cost as it takes instructors away from class time.

The MAQLD
Competition Team was outstanding in all areas. It was my
proudest moment to date as a coach. There were so many stand out
competitors from our team this year, I would like to make a
special mention to Edwuardo competing in his fist competition in
our team and his first as a purple belt. He played a fantastic
game in his weight division winning it by an advantage and then
moving into the open weight and besides being the smallest in
the division he won all matches by submission, well done mate.

Wow our biggest and best grading yet around 170 students from our little Warriors and Defence systems were put through rigorous testing on Sunday the 17th of May. There were some excellent matches but would like to really point out how well Josh Keighly performed, he really had a great game plan and stuck to it and came away with a first place, WELL DONE. On January 29th Helio Gracie passed away at the age of 95. Without him and his sons Brazilian Jiu Jitsu would not be where it is today.

Thanks to all of our members We have won the Quest Newspaper 2007 Business achieves award in the sports and fitness section. Martial Arts Queensland Commitment Program Merit Badges are another way of recognising the achievement of students who have learnt a new skill. To earn your merit badges you must first register your interest with Sensei Matthew, you will then have one month to research and study the material for that particular badge. At the end of the research time you will be required to sit a written and or practical test. Only one badge can be studied for at a time.
